Review

This review applies to version 5.4 The latest version of this software will soon be reviewed by our informers.

CrossFont is a wonderful application that allows you to convert TrueType and PostScript Type1 fonts between Windows PC and Macintosh platforms. It also enables you to convert Type 1 fonts to OpenType. You can also preview the fonts and view detailed information about it before conversion to be absolutely sure that that's the font you want to convert. The program features a simple and intuitive user interface that can be used by anyone. It automatically recognizes supported font types and generates missing supporting font files ( PFM, PFA, AFM, INF,etc.). You will be able to customize the application as you wish through the settings and it allows you to import fonts from any folder on your PC and offers drag and drop support. It even supports batch conversion, but that feature is disabled in the trial mode. The application even supports OX X data fork fonts (.dfont.and reads Stuffit (.sit, .sea) and Zip archives. You can create font families to easy recognition. Font outlines, hinting., and metrics are preserved. All in all, CrossFont is everything you need to convert your fonts to be used on a different platform, either Mac or Windows.
Advantages
  • Easy-to-use.
  • Intuitive user interface.
  • Supports batch conversion.
  • You can preview the fonts.
Disadvantages
